Ruth Fagan, 91, of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly of Danville went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2011 at Carrington Place in St. Petersburg. Ruth was born on March 1, 1920 in Rochester, New York daughter of Charles and Amelia Hack. She married Harry Fagan on July 13, 1939. He preceded her in death after 69 years of marriage in March of 2009. Survivors include their son, David Fagan (Diana Daulton) of Bradenton, FL, their five daughters, Sandy Leonard of Tonica, IL, Judy (Fred) Schafer of St. Charles, MO, Debbie Lutton of Lafayette, IN, Kim (Greg) Hussmann of Batavia, IL, and Lorie Fagan of St. Petersburg, FL; sister Delores (Bobby) Eaglen, fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Bernice Hearrington. Ruth graduated from Danville High School and attended Brown University. She worked at Walgreens Distributing for 10 years, but above all she was a loving and dedicated homemaker, mother, and wife. Ruth enjoyed gardening, feeding the hummingbirds, cooking, knitting for family and charity, traveling (especially Caribbean cruises), and was an avid Cubs and Illini fan. A private Celebration of Ruths Life will be held at St. Pauls Catholic Church. Following the services she will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville.
