Ruth Ann Earl

Danville – Ruth Ann Earl, 86, of Danville passed away at 6:48 AM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born June 18, 1939, in Danville to Howard Louis and Sarah Fraulein (Nicholson) Krauel. She married Jack A. Earl on December 12, 1958, in Danville. He survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Merrit (William) Spicer of Danville and Weslee Innes of Danville; four grandchildren, Braydon (Atheena) Spicer, Brooklyn Spicer, Ellia (Kahlar) Drews, and Bowman Innes; three great grandchildren, Brighton Spicer, Malakai Spicer, and Marley Drews; a sister, Jeanette Lairamore; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty True.

Ruth Ann worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Carpenter in Danville before taking a job at Overstreet’s Jeweler’s. From there, she resumed her work as a dental assistant at the Danville VA Illiana Health Care System from which she retired. Ruth’s grandfather helped build St. John’s Church in Danville of which she was a lifelong member. She remained through the church’s changes to Danville United Church of Christ, and now Christ Way Church. Her faith and desire to serve was also evident through her volunteer work at Edison and Southwest Elementary School’s where she would help teach children how to read. Ruth was also a long-time member of the Lamba Tau Delta Sorority where she created many friendships. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and cross stitching, but her true love was spending time with her friends and family.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ruth Ann Earl will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Christ Way Church in Danville. Clay Woodard will officiate. A private burial will take place following services at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Friday, December 19, prior to the services, also at Christ Way Church in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834 has been entrusted with cremation and service arrangements. Memorials in her name may be made to Christ Way Church in Danville.
