Ruth E. Will, 89, of Danville, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Friday, July 29th, 2011 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Ruth was born on June 9th, 1922, in Danville, the daughter of Walter E. and Phoebe (Thornsbrough) Cole. She married Floyd "Bill" Louis Will on October 26th, 1940 in Morganfield, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on February 7th, 1977. She is survived by a daughter- Cynthia Lynn (Doug Campbell) Will of Danville; nephew- Terry Cole of Florence, Alabama; two great-nieces; and a great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother- Orville Cole, and niece- Carlene Elliott. Ruth attended Franklin and Washington Schools and graduated from Danville High School class of 1940. Ruth worked for Montgomery Ward for 32 years as manager. She also managed the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store for 10 years and The Fashion for 10 years. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Danville. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Business and Professional Women's Club in Danville and the Danville Garden Club. Ruth enjoyed gardening, eating out, watching football, traveling and shopping. A Celebration of the life of Ruth E. Will will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home is in charge of arrangements.
