Ruth E. Mingee, 80, of Tilton, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center. She was born on January 8, 1939 the daughter of Oscar and Margaret (Tornquist) Scarce in Danville, IL. They precede her in death.

Also preceding Ruth in death include her husband of 26 years, Jerry Mingee, who passed on October 24, 1985.

Ruth leaves behind two children, Michael (Joan) Mingee and Daniel (Susie) Mingee; and two granddaughters.

Ruth graduated from Westville High School and went on to work as a bookkeeper for the Village of Tilton. She later worked at Karens Kottage. Ruth was a member of Central Park Church of Christ in Tilton. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She always put her family first and especially loved having holiday dinners with them. She will be missed dearly.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Pleasant Meadows for all of the loving care and friendship.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Raymie Gordon. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
