Ruth Champion

Ruth Champion, age 89, formerly of Danville, passed away at Meadow Lakes Nursing Facility in Mooresville, IN on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. She was born on October 30, 1919 in Danville, IL the daughter of Russell and Lois (Day) Johnson. Ruth is survived by her son: Don (Cheri) Champion; a daughter: Kay Champion; her sister: Lotus Williamson three grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Champion, brothers Woodrow and Richard Johnson and one sister Lucretia Johnson. A celebration of the life of Ruth Champion will be held at 3 pm on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Ruths name to the Danville Fire Department.
