Ruth Cash

DANVILLE-Ruth E. Odum Cash, 82 of Danville passed away at 10:55pm on Wednesday February 20, 2008 at the Hawthorn Inn in Danville. She was born on June 18, 1925 in Danville, the daughter of Russell B. and Bertha B. Woodrum Hazlett. Both deceased. Ruth married her first husband, Raymond Odum on August 11, 1946 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death in Jan 1977. She later married Hollis E. Cash on September 2, 1978, in Danville. He preceded her in death in Oct 1998. Ruth is survived and will be missed by her two daughters: Diana K. (Stanley) Laker of Crown point, IN, and Donna (Steve) Barkley of Sidney, IL. Her three stepdaughters: Donna Cash of Cal., Dianna (Ken) Rainey of Texas, and Carla (Duane) Prentice of Danville. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Matthew K. Laker, Samuel P. Laker, Devin Barkley, and Kaleb Barkley. Four step-grandsons: Nathan Wilkus, Nicholas Panos, Christopher Prentice, Evan Prentice, and her sister: Evelyn Salley of Florida as well as her aunt, two uncles, and several nieces and nephews. Her two brothers also precede Ruth in death. Ruth was a member of Central Christian Church in Danville. She attended Danville High School, and later was a self-employed Beautician for 25 years. She belonged to the Danville Post 24 Womens Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.
