GEORGETOWN- Ruth M. (Fuel) Burris, 85, of Georgetown, passed away at 12:35pm on Tuesday, August 30th, 2005, at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born on March 6th, 1920, in Indianola, IL, the daughter of Monroe and Lucy (Cook) Fuel. In 1938, Ruth was united in marriage to Edward T. Burris. He passed away in June of 1977. Mrs. Burris leaves behind: two sons, Darryl T. (Barbara) Burris of St. Augustine, Fl, and Rodger L. (Terri) Burris of Waterloo, IA; one daughter, Michelle A. Burris of Grand Junction, CO; one sister, Leora Wise of Olivet, IL; four grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Burris of Crystal Lake, IL, Halle Burris of Elgin, IL, Kelly (Mitch) Ward of Waterloo, IA, and Doug Burris of Indianapolis, IN; five great-grandchildren, Danny, Katie, Austin, Gabrielle, and Cole; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special sister-in-law, Thelma Juvinall. Her parents, three brothers-Paul, Noel, Leonard, and two sisters-Gladys Richardson and Linda Gene Foley, preceded Ruth in death. Ruth graduated from Ridge Farm High School and was a bookkeeper at the Chrisman and Georgetown Grain Elevators. She was a faithful member of the Georgetown Friends Church and enjoyed reading as well as spending time with her family and her church family. A celebration Ruths life is scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday, September 3rd, 2005, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Officiating will be Pastor James Walker. Final resting place will be at Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8pm on Friday, September 2nd, 2005, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in Ruths name to either the Georgetown Friends Church or the Georgetown Library.
