Tilton - Ruth A. Weaver, 92, of Central Park, and most recently a resident of Goldwater Care, went to her eternal home on Friday, March 15 at 12:08 AM. She was best known as Ruthie, Mom, Grandma or Mimmie.
Mom loved her family, her church and her home. She made the best sweet tea, homemade pies and Sunday dinners. As a family we celebrated everything, and she taught us how important family was. Mom saw the good in everybody and put everybody above herself.
Ruth was born on June 30, 1931 in Danville, Illinois and grew up in Vermilion Heights where her family home still stands. She was the daughter of Ray and Grace Yeats and from a family of 10. On August 6, 1949 Ruth married Merlin Weaver. From then they built their family. Dad unexpectedly passed away in March of 1979. Mom then carried out what they had built. A true legacy was formed because of our parents. Now they are reunited and together forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers (Raymond and Melvin), and sisters (Fauntella, Rena, Dorothy, Ginny, Wilma and Janice).
Ruth was the Director of Home Delivered Meals (CRIS Senior Services) for 20 years. She was very dedicated and loved the people she served. She was a seamstress for years and enjoyed sewing. She made wedding dresses for both her daughters, along with some of the bridal attire. She could fix anything. She was involved in PTA and anything her children or grandchildren were involved with. She was a faithful member of Central Park Church of Christ for many years and served in several areas of the church through those years.
Mom loved her family and they loved her. She is survived by her children; David (Cindy) Weaver of Catlin, Illinois, Tammy (Roger) Graham of Danville, Illinois, and Susan (Dave) Hastings of Louisville, Kentucky. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren whom she loved so much and who knew her as Grandma/Mimmie; Bryan (Shannon) Weaver, Brad (Jennifer) Weaver, Blake (Angie) Weaver, Mandy Weaver, Ryan (Ashley) Graham, Cole (Kasi) Graham, Ashlee (Will) Leonard, Kyle (Hannah) Hastings, Kirk (Chelsea) Hastings, and Koby (Shelby) Hastings. She also had 23 great-grandchildren who always put a smile on her face; Logan, Aubrey, Ella, Brayden, Brody, Kaleb, Dalton, Karley, Paxton, Jack, Brooks, Audee, Dugan, Aayden, Eva, Maisie, Miya, Ace, Jet, Ellie, Harper, River and Harlie. And to complete five generations, she also had five great-great grandchildren; Reagan, Grant, Kennedy, Ray and Rhett. Mom is also survived by a sister (Ruby) and several nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to Goldwater Care, formerly Colonial Manor, especially the East Wing, who took excellent care of our Mom and became like family, and for some special care givers we have had over the past few years.
