Russell 'Wayne' Tolen, 76, of Danville, passed away at 9:10 PM on February 11, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center. He was born on May 7, 1936 in Paris, IL, the son of Earnest and Ruth (Breedlove) Tolen. He married Carol Gayer on June 5, 1955 in Paris, IL. She survives. Surviving him are one son- Dewain Tolen, one daughter- Sheri (Tom) Hosken, nine grandchildren- Jeff Thatcher, Chad Thatcher, Kylie Niccum, Brandy Shotts, Amber Tolen, Bradley Tolen, Sarah Hosken, Jim Hosken, Alisha Hosken and fifteen great grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Larry Tolen and Eugene Tolen. He went to Western Military Academy in Alton, IL then he worked for Danville Metal Stamping for 38 years until his retirement. Wayne was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville. He loved to fly remote control airplanes, golf, and was an avid Illinois sports fan especially Illini basketball. A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass for Wayne will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. Greg Nelson officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Memorials can be made in Wayne's name to St. Paul's Catholic Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
