Russell Wayne Jumps

Terre Haute, Ind. - Russell Wayne Jumps, 68, formerly of Perrysville and a resident at Spring Hill Village passed away at 3:43 p.m. EST Monday, January 14, 2019 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was born October 14, 1950 in Perrysville, Indiana the son of the late William Kermit and Mary Hazel (Newell) Jumps.

He was formerly married to the late Teresa A. Maxfield. During their marriage they had three children.

Survivors include two children: Dale (Meisha) Jumps of Cayuga, Indiana and Mary Ann (Shawn)Parks of Terre Haute, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Dillon, Cody, Micah, Kennedy, Mya, Laila and William; one sister: Rita Ann Freed of Rockville, Indiana; one brother: Richard A. (Dianna) Jumps of Perrysville, Indiana; former daughter-in-law: Jamie (Jeff) Robertson of Hillsdale, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Russell was preceded in death by his step mother: Louise Jumps; son: William Jumps and brother: Robert D. Jumps.

Russell was a self-employed plumber. He was a 1968 graduate of North Vermillion High School. He was a former member of the Perrysville Fire and Rescue Department. Russell enjoyed reading the newspaper, tinkering and watching his grandchildren participate in sports.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. EST Friday, January 25, 2019 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Burial: Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EST Friday, January 25, 2019 until time of services. Contributions may be made to the Perrysville Fire and Rescue Department.
