Russell Stuebe, 58, of Danville, passed away at 7:25 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on June 16, 1955 in Danville, the son of Harold Frank and Dorothea Anna Stuebe. Surviving him are two sisters- Mary Pruitt of Danville and Linda Stuebe of Peoria, one niece- Hallie Pruitt, one great nephew- Bryton Pruitt and lifelong friend- Lyle Holycross. Russell was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Danville High School in 1973. Russell was manager at National Foods, worked for Stuebe Printing, Redman Industries in Texas as a foreman, truck driver for J.B. Hunt, he owned his own landscaping business and ended his working career at Wright Sims Farms. Russell loved witnessing and studying the Bible, fishing, bowling, hanging out with his friends and family and especially his great nephew Bryton who he loved playing trains with. He enjoyed yard work and gardening, riding his motorcycle and helping his neighbors. A Celebration of Russell's Life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Matt Harmless officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Gundy Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Salvation Army; St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Carle Foundation Hospital Auxiliary Guest House.
