Russell 'Russ' Norman Mcdaniel

Westville- Russell "Russ" Norman McDaniel, 63, of Westville passed away at 6:10 AM on February 10, 2017 at his son's home in Danville, IL. Russell was born the son of Charles Oscar and Deloris Marie (High) McDaniel on December 4, 1953 in Danville, IL. He married Janice Denney on August 12, 2000 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2000. He married Diane Trammell Bales on December 13, 2014 and she survives in Westville, IL. Other survivors include his father, Charles McDaniel of Tilton, six sons, Marcus and Michael Cash both of Chicago, IL, Mathew (Tiffany) Cash of Bismarck, IL, Jerry (Jamie) Cash of Danville, IL, Brett Tramell and Bradley Bales both of Westville, three daughters, Jamie (Joseph) Cox and Marlina (Kelly) Burrows both of Tilton, and Angelina Terry of Danville, IL, four brothers, Chuck McDaniel, Lance (Tyranne) McDaniel, James McDaniel and Kevin McDaniel all of Tilton, one sister, Stacy Hackman of Tilton, 23 grandchildren, Madison, Tyler, Carly, Ryley, Trever, Maddox, Little Maddox, HalieJo, Russell, Kelli, Chance, Annastasia, Jade, Diamond, Saphire, Christian, Tyrus, Skyla, Zayne, Solara, Salene, Marilyn, and Amos. Russ is preceded in death by his mother and paternal and maternal grandparents. Russ served in the United States Navy and was a drywall finisher. He enjoyed a variety of sports, he played basketball, bowled on 2 different leagues and participated in BB/BS Bowl for Kids Sake, enjoyed playing volleyball, softball and pitching horseshoes and bags. Russ was an avid Vikings fan and a die-hard Illini fan. Most of all, Russ enjoyed spending his free time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL.
