Rudolph 'Rudy' Deschamps

Rudolph George DesChamps, 86, of Mahomet, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on January 6, 2024.

Rudy was born in Oak Park, Illinois on his fathers birthday, August 14, 1937, to Rudolph and Ann DesChamps. He married the love of his life, Marie Lucille Fucciolo April 20, 1963. Their love surpassed all others for the entirety of their 60 years of marriage together.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant son, Ronald E. DesChamps.

Rudy is survived by four children: Rudy (Nerissa) DesChamps, Rick (Sabrina) DesChamps, Rob DesChamps and Gina DesChamps, his sister: PeggyAnn Miedona, and his five cherished grandchildren: Mack DesChamps, Abby DesChamps, Ricky DesChamps Jr, Cameron Hieser and Maddie Lou Hieser.

Rudy played an integral role in developing the Solo Cup factory in Urbana, Il. His greatest accomplishment was participating in the patent of the iconic "Red Solo Cup".

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4:30-7:30pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 1102 Churchill Rd. Mahomet IL. 61853. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church 501 W. State St, in Mahomet at 11am on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Rudy will be interred at Riverside Cemetery in Mahomet, IL.
