Ruby Williams, 102, passed June 15, 2014. Aunt Ruby was born on October 11, 1911 in Bismarck, IL to Clarence and Stella (Potter) Huffman. She married Howard Williams on June 7, 1933 in Danville. Surviving her is one brother, Glenn (Mildred) Huffman of Bismarck; two nieces, Rheta (Robert) Dart of Danville; Valerie (Paul) Osborn of Champaign; one niece-in-law, Cynthia Cunningham of Tilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Opal and a much loved nephew, Doc Cunningham. Aunt Ruby was employed for many years at the Musebeck Shoe Company until it closed after World War II. She was a past Matron of the Iris Chapter of the Eastern Star and a Grand Lecturer for 30 yeears. She was a past Grand Officer at Grand Representative of the State of Oregon for two years and a Grand Representative of Quebec for three years. She was a member of Farmers Chapel Church. Aunt Ruby and Uncle Howard were married for 67 years. They had no children but always claimed Doc and Rheta as their own. Whenever we were in trouble, we would end up at Aunt Rubys. She loved to dance to the Beer Barrel Polka and had an acre garden until she was 90. Aunt Ruby lived to almost 103. She saw everything from some of the first cars and plans, lived through the Great Depression and WWI and every war thereafter. She saw Americans land on the moon and traveled all over the world and the U.S. She will be greatly missed by her niece, Rheta, but on Fathers Day, June 15, 2014 her dad came and took her home. A service to celebrate the life of Ruby will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A life Celebration Home in Danville. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck.
