Ruby Myrl Schmidt

Danville - Ruby M. Schmidt, 90, passed away on December 27, 2015 at her home in Danville, IL. She was born the daughter of Brantly A. and Mattie N. (Wilson) Hyde on October 5, 1925 in Paducah, KY. Ruby married William Schmidt on January 10, 1953 in Danville. Ruby is survived by her nieces and nephews James (Ko-ko) Atwell, Linda Atwell, Kenneth (Debbie) Atwell, and Lynette Smith; and many friends. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters Dorothy Lytton of Danville, IL and Mary Catherine Atwell of Old Hickory, TN. Ruby worked as book keeper at A&P. She was a member of East Park Church of Christ and worked as a teacher for their Thursday School Program. Ruby was a member of the Woman's Club of Danville, she enjoyed reading, and loved telling stories about her family. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Saturday January 2, 2016 from 1-2pm with service to follow at 2pm at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Ruby's name to the East Park Church of Christ - Thursday School Program or the American Cancer Society.
