Ruby Meeker

Ruby G. Meeker, 107, of Danville, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was born in Danville, IL on January 25, 1914, the daughter of Sylvanus and Jessie Lamm.

Ruby is survived by her son, Floyd (Sharon) Meeker; grandchildren, Dale (Kim) Pinegar, Nancy (Terry) Dines, Greg Ingalsbe, Kevin (Candi) Ingalsbe, Cindy (Ed) Elliott, Robbie (Kelly) Meeker, Tammy (David) Harper, Chuckie (Tammi) Falletti, David (Colleen) Falletti, 23 great-grandchildren and many great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvanus and Jessie; husband, Sterling D. Meeker; children, Norma (Jack) Pinegar, Clara (Ervin) Ingalsbe, Wanda (Dick) Falletti; grandchildren, Jeff Pinegar, Debbie (Joe) Franks, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Ruby was a kind and loving woman who loved spending time with her family and church friends. Ruby and Sterling loved camping where the family would spend hours around the campfire. She was known hosting holiday dinners where she would play the piano for all to enjoy. As a young girl she would travel the country with her father, who worked for the railroad. It was during this time that she grew a passion for traveling.

Ruby enjoyed working outside and maintained a wonderful garden that fed her family for years. She and her husband also raised hogs and every Thanksgiving would join Sterlings family in the butchering process.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Due to Covid-19 a private visitation and service for Rubys family will be held at Second Church of Christ. It is requested that everyone in attendance where a mask and practice social distancing.

Ruby will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. Her family has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 to handle funeral arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made in Rubys name to the Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL.
