Ruby Hope

Fithian - Hope Ruby C. Hope, 75, of Fithian IL. passed away at 7:17 am on Saturday May 11, 2013 at her home, her loved ones were at her side. Ruby was born on November 4, 1937 to Toby and Susie Wyatt in Glasgow KY. She married Cecil Hope on March 16, 1951, in Glasgow KY., he preceded her in death on April 20, 2005. Ruby is survived by her son Tobi (Brandy) Hope of Bloomington IL.; daughter Penny (Phillip Sams) Woolwine of Kingman IN.; daughter-in-law Effie Jean Hope; grandchildren Brent, Brandi, Max and Ella Hope; and great-grandchildren Brooks Enos and Brayden Hope. She was preceded in death by her sons George and Robert Hope in 1995, infant daughter Loretta Jane, infant grandson Brian Hope, her parents and her eight brothers and sisters and son-in-law David Wooline. A graduate of Glasgow High School Ruby dedicated her life to looking after people and worked as a care giver up until two weeks prior to her death. A skilled Euchre card player she liked to dance and was always up to trying her luck at the River Boats. Ruby was a member of the Moose Lodge, she sold at the Farmer's Market for 25 years and as an accomplished chef Ruby enjoyed cooking for her family almost as much as they enjoyed eating her meals. Above all else Ruby loved her family, friends and the people she looked after through her work. A celebration of Ruby's life will be held at 10:00 am on May 15, 2013 at the Oakwood Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Anglin officiating and burial at Stearns Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Oakwood IL.
