Ruby Copsy

Danville Ruby Copsy, 98, of Danville passed away at 7:05 AM on February 2, 2023 at Colonial Manor in Danville, IL.

Ruby was born on November 4, 1924 the daughter of James and Leatha (Scott) Taylor. She married Harold Copsy on May 10, 1941 in Manchester County, TN and he preceded her in death on September 24 1952.

Survivors include her great nephew, Craig Barth of Danville, IL, great niece Jamie Rhodes in Paris, IL. Ruby also had two great-great nieces that were special to her, Chloe Miller and Madison Rhodes.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Captain Harold Copsy, Sr and her son, Harold Copsy, Jr. in 1947. She is also preceded in death by five sisters, Ida Anderson, Lucille Peevler, Wanda Barth, Martha Chiaffredo, and Lilly Underwood and one brother, James Taylor.

Ruby loved her flowers and gardening as well as watching birds and reading romance novels. She was a wonderful baker and made a wonderful rhubarb custard pie.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rod Godley will officiate.
