Rowena Deeken

Rowena Lou Deeken, 86, of Danville, passed away at 12pm on Monday March 5, 2018. She was born on July 23, 1931 in Danville the daughter of Willis and Geraldine Kelley. On June 18, 1950 Rowena married the love of her life John C. Deeken and they spent many years together before his passing. Rowena is survived by her daughters, Trudy (James) Crow, Cynthia (William Jr.) Pitlik, Denise (Michael) Stout; son, Bruce (Laurie) Deeken; grandchildren, Derrick (Natalie) Crow, Brent (Andrea) Crow, Ronald (Davida) Kidwell III, Sara (Kyle) Catalina, Thomas Kidwell, Kelley Beckett, Robin Beckett, April (Keagan) Roth, John (Brittany) Deeken, Jack Deeken, Carl Deeken, Alexandria (Cody) Stout, Krystin (John) Stout, Brandi (Nate) Brinkley, Aaron Pitlik, Dustin Pitlik; and 24 great-grandchildren. Rowena is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Wilma Wait and brother, Howard Eugene Kelley. Rowena was a graduate of Danville High School. She enjoyed traveling and camping as well as spending as much time as possible with family. In her spare time, she also enjoyed sewing, crochet and reading. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm Thursday March 8, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Kevin Little. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 2pm on Thursday March 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
