Cayuga, Ind. - Ross E. Andrews, 83, of Cayuga, passed away at 10:15 p.m. CDT Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at North Logan Health Care in Danville, Illinois. He was born December 30, 1929 in Hardesty Alberta Canada, the son of the late Evert and Myrtle Deckker Andrews. He first married Mildred Cunningham. He later married Norma Jane Conrad on November 2, 1985 in Danville, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Clark of Rainsville, Alabama; one son, Kevin(Teresa)Andrews of Rossville, Illinois; step children, Brenda(Larry)Craft of Cayuga, Indiana; Jack(Mary)Conrad of Ridge Farm, Illinois; David(Cheryl)Conrad of Olivet, Illinois; Mike(Tami)Conrad of Ridge Farm, Illinois and Michelle(Jim)Langdon of Toulon, Illinois; one very close grandson, Derrick(Dana); grandchildren, Brandon; Whitney; Ryan; Blake and Heather; five great grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren, Jo Anna; Larry; Gena; Steven; Amanda; Joshua; Cindy; Angel; David, Jr.; Katie and Jimmy; several step great grandchildren; two brothers, Victor Andrews of Danville, Illinos and Neil(Joann)Andrews of Alvin, Illinois; four nephews, Brad; Rick; Greg and Gary. Ross was preceded in death by one brother and one niece. Ross retired from the Danville V.A. Hospital(Illiana Health Care System)after 34 years as a CNA. He spent two years with the army national guard. Ross attended the Nazarene Church. He was a 1947 graduate of Bismarck High School. He enjoyed yard work; gardening; being outdoors; working on mowers; all animals; gospel and country music; square dancing and watching hockey. Funeral services: 3 p.m. EDT Saturday, August 31, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Kent Pitcher; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EDT Saturday, August 31, 2013 until time of services. Contributions may be made to the Parke/Vermillion Humane Society, 1884 South State Road 63, Hillsdale, Indiana 47854.
