Rosemond Craycraft 93, of Georgetown passed away at 8:20 a.m. Saturday April 11, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL; she was born October 24, 1915 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of William Lee and Sarah Elizabeth Wallace Duncan. She married Cloyd Melvin Craycraft on August 6, 1939 in Ridge Farm; he preceded her on March 17, 1957. Those who will miss her are three daughters; Linda Allaway , Patricia (Denny) Fegett both of Georgetown and Christine (Alva) Montgomery of Potomac, one brother Shorty Duncan of Tilton, seven grandchildren; Lynn Mains of Anchorage, AK, Erik Mains of Westville, Scott (Heather) Fegett of Oakwood, Mark (Star) Fegett of Veedersburg, In, Megan Montgomery of Potomac, Michael (Marie) Montgomery of Camp LeJeune, NC and Matthew Montgomery of Potomac, step-grandchildren; Greg Fegett of Georgetown and Delynn (Rusty) Snapp of Georgetown, six great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother Douglas and a brother Wayne Duncan. Rosemond was a 1934 graduate of Georgetown High School and in her early years she along with her family worked at local grocery stores. In 1957 she started at Fazio Department Store and later worked for Ben Franklin Store until its closing in 2000. Rosemond joined the Georgetown Chapter of the Eastern Star#305 and later became a member of Hope Chapter#104. She was a people person and was proud of knowing several generations of families. For several years she decorated for weddings and anniversaries and took pride in her workmanship. Rosemond was proud of her strong work ethic, her family and her life in Georgetown. A celebration of life funeral service for Rosemond Craycraft will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday April 14, 2009 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Officiating will be Raymie Gordon. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Monday April 13, 2009 at the funeral home.
