Rosemary Rutledge

Covington - Rosemary Rutledge, 78, of Covington, formerly of Danville, IL passed away at 11:45 am on March 14, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Rosemary was born on December 14, 1939 the daughter of Clarence and Zola (Cox) Fagan in Danville, IL. Rosemary married James Rutledge on July 2, 1960 in Danville and he survives. Survivors include her husband, James of 57 years, two sons; Steve (Shelly) Rutledge of St. Louis, MO and Doug (Jami) Rutledge of Rantoul, IL, one daughter-in-law; Kim Rutledge of Fithian, IL as well as eight grandchildren; Jimmy, Andy, Sean, Katie, Ben, Stefani, Steve and Schae. Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents and one son; Randy Rutledge. Rosemary was a 1958 graduate of Danville High School where she was a member of the Symphony Orchestra. She attended the University of Illinois on a full Music Scholarship where she Majored in String Bass and Minored in Piano and a member of the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra. Rosemary was an avid antique dealer. She owned and operated the antique shop in Covington, IN called "Antique Rose". She also sold items in various antique malls in the Illinois area including Arcola, Tuscola, St. Joseph and Covington, IN. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Hawthorne Inn for taking such wonderful care of Rosemary. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday March 19, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, IL. Josh Hunsberger will officiate. Visitation will be held at from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Rosemary's memory to the Krannert Center For The Performing Arts at 500 S Goodwin Ave, Urbana, IL 61801.
