Rosemary Northrup

Rosemary (Brazelton) Northrup passed away on June 1, 2023, at home in Hutchinson, MN. She was born on March 12, 1949, to Virgil W. "Bill" and Joan (Crum) Brazelton of Ridge Farm, IL. She is survived by her two brothers, Dan (Jane) Brazelton who resides in Ohio, and Ivan (Jane) Brazelton of Chrisman, IL, her two sons Kaleb (Sarah) Northrup and Jason Northrup, both living in Minnesota, as well as her paternal uncle Charles (Jan) Brazelton of Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins locally in and around the Central IL area and beyond. Rosemary was preceded in death by both of her parents, Bill and Joan, and will soon be reunited with them at the Franklin Cemetery near Chrisman. Rose lived in Chrisman for several years following her retirement from the University of Illinois. She was a huge Illini fan and skilled at playing cards, both strong Brazelton family traits. A longtime secretary, her family was exceedingly proud of her for going back to school in her adulthood, graduating with a bachelors degree from Eastern Illinois University about 2 weeks before her eldest son Kaleb also earned his bachelors degree. She was also an excellent piano player, despite being self-taught, and played for years during services at Mahomet Christian Church. A service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with a visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to her service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given in her name to the Eastern Illinois Food Bank.
