Rosemary Lee Smith

Rosemary Lee Smith, 81, of Henning, IL passed away at her home with her family by her side at 8:33 AM on February 21, 2024.

Rosemary was born on April 5, 1942 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Samuel and Gwen (Hall) Adams. She married Jim Smith on June 3, 1959 in Danville, IL and he survives.

Survivors include her husband Jim Smith of Henning, IL, sons, Jim (Vicki) Smith, Jr. of Henning, IL, Russell (Leigh) Smith of Danville, IL, Ronald (Kim) Smith of Battle Creek, MI and Kevin (Gina) Smith of Hillsboro, IL, ten grandchildren, Melissa (Tyson) Bell, Joseph (Bryanna) Smith, Danielle (Freddy) George, Amanda Smith, Alisha (Scott) Hill, Ronald Smith, Jr, John Smith, Ashley Smith, Taelyn Smith and Kaeden Smith, as well as fourteen great grandchildren and four siblings, Linda Carter, Donald (Penny) Adams, Kenny (Janie) Adams and Jeanette (Jon Burton) King.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Russell Hardy, and six siblings, Samuel Adams, Betty Short, Phyllis Lindsey, Alice Rose, Gene Adams, and Jack Adams.

Rosemary was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending her free time collecting dolls, working puzzles, attending Flea Markets and cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren at various sporting events.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Rod Godley will officiate. Burial will be in Manns Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the funeral home.
