Rosellen McCarty

Rosellen McCarty, 64, of Hillsdale, Indiana, passed away on Thursday night at Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton, Indiana, on February 13, 2025, with family by her side. Rosellen was born in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Clementine (Raspberry) Ashby on July 8. 1960. She married Tim McCarty, and he preceded her in death.

Rosellen leaves behind her children; Charles Cummins, John (Fiancée Candy) Cummins, Shawn (Terri) Cummins, and Christine (David) Hill, her grandchildren; Chasity Orlea, Jovi Orlea, Devin Huffman, Shawn Michael, Ernie Cummins, Harley Cummins, Crystal Cummins, Hunter Cummins, Madison Sloane, Blake Michael, Ava Cummins, Mary Cummins, and Charlee Cummins, thirteen great grandchildren, a brother Clayton Ashby and a sister Oneta Jones.

Rosellen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tim, a daughter in law Jennifer Cummins, and lifelong friend Bubby Jackson.

Rosellen loved gardening either with flowers or growing produce she enjoyed being out in the garden. She had a love for all animals and enjoyed being around them. She loved to camp and fish, and taking the kids when they were young to the river to teach them how to fish. Most of all the time with her family was the best she loved her family, and they will miss her. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday February 25, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s DeVerter Chapel, 215 N. Division St. Cayuga, IN.47928. Burial will follow at Pleasant Mound Cemetery outside of Georgetown, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noo-2pm on Tuesday prior to service.
