Rose Marie Hershberger

Danville - Rose Marie Hershberger of Danville, Il passed away on January 20, 2017 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born on July 11, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI. She married Floyd Hershberger on January 15, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI, he precedes her in death. Rose Marie is survived by her sons; John (Helen) Hershberger, Thomas (Shelley) Hershberger and Edward Hershberger, daughters; Jenifer (Earl) Lewis and Karen (Rick) Gardner as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law; Sally. Rose Marie was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's Nursing School in 1948 and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Eastern Illinois University. She was a nurse at St. Joseph's School, a member of The Alter and Rosary Society at St. Isaac Jogues in Georgetown. She loved to sew and collect dolls. She also loved dogs, especially her English Bulldog, Sebastian. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband Floyd. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. A celebration of Rose Marie's life will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Chapel Mausoleum. Entombment will immediately follow the service. Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Danville is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
