Covington, Ind. - Rose M. Curtis, 87, of Covington, passed peacefully surrounded by her children at 3 a.m. EST Saturday, March 13, 2021 at her daughter's residence in Covington.

She was born August 13, 1933 in Cates, Indiana the daughter of the late William T. and Mary E. (Anderson) Wilson.

Rosie married Dean Curtis on September 12, 1952 at the Stringtown Church of God. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2015.

Survivors include her children: Deanetta (Jim) Jordan of Covington, Indiana; Sandra (Richard) Curry of Loudon, Tennessee; Phillip (Karen) Curtis of Franklin, Indiana; Tammy (Gregg) Dennis of Fort Myers, Florida and Carol (Steven) Allen of Louisville, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one sister: Julia McHenry of Bismarck, Illinois, along with several nieces and nephews.

Rosie was preceded in death by her two sisters: Bessie Ellis and Nellie Gritten.

Rosie formerly worked as a bailiff for six years in Fountain County. She attended the First Baptist Church in Covington. Rosie was a 1951 graduate of Kingman High School. She was a member of the Covington Home Economic Club and would volunteer at The Waters of Covington. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and raising flowers.

Rosie's family would like to thank all of their friends for the food, cards, and prayers.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Friday, March 19, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, 518 5th Street, Covington, Indiana 47932; Officiating: Pastor Andy Harkleroad; Burial: Coal Creek Cemetery south of Covington, Indiana; Visitation: Noon until time of services at the church (Mask Optional). The family request contributions to the First Baptist Church. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
