Rose L. Freed

Cayuga, Ind. - Rose L. Freed, 83, of Cayuga passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at 1:09 a.m. EST at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Rose was born January 7, 1937 to the late Theodore and Esther (Nale) Steeples.

She married Franklin D. Freed September 11, 1954 in Ridge Farm, Illinois. He preceded her in death June 2, 2000.

Survivors include two daughters: Evelyn Freed of Cayuga, Indiana and Sheryl Richards of Ridge Farm, Illinois; two sons: Dale (Loretta) Freed and John (Dawn) Freed both of Cayuga, Indiana. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and 3 daughters: June Ellen Freed, Penny Watkins and Edna Woodard.

Growing up, Rose attended Ridge Farm Schools. She had previously worked with the Vermillion County Head Start Program as an assistant teacher. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
