Rose F. Jenkins, 82, of Georgetown, passed away at 1:20am, Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman. She was born on November 11, 1931, in Georgetown, the daughter of Leonard and Rose {Stimac} Wallace. On December 31, 1956, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Jenkins Sr. in Danville. He survives. She is also survived by: her children, Billy (Joy) Barrett of Tilton, Gwen (Bill) Burke of Hoopeston, Tammy (Pat) Longest of Hoopeston, Pete (Cathy) Jenkins of Georgetown, & Dawn Jenkins of Georgetown; her 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and her brother, Leonard (Ilene) Wallace of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Jack & John Wallace; three sisters, Marge Laffalett, Ann Daulton, & Sophie Moody; and an infant sister, Mary Ann. Rose was a cook for Oakwood High School and Lincoln House Restaurant in Ogden. She later worked at the Unemployment Office in Danville. She loved her children and spending time with friends. Rose was known to love music and was an awesome dancer. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Olivet Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Alzheimers Association. As per her wishes, she was cremated. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home assisted her family with arrangements.
