Rose E. Decker, 80, of Danville, passed away at 8:59am on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on February 23, 1931, the daughter of William Vance and Elizabeth (Allen) Vance. Both are deceased. On June 22, 1951, Rose married Richard Decker Sr. He survives of Danville along with their three sons; David (Laura) Decker of Danville, Richard W. Decker Jr. (Randy Jackson' Zoller) of Florida, Dwayne Louie' Decker of KY, and their two daughters; Ruth (Dennis Sr.) Young of Danville, and Tamela (Scott) Tomlinson also of Danville. Her ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive her. In addition to her parents, her daughter, great- grandchild, and her eight brothers and sisters preceded Rose in death. In her earlier years, Rose worked at Continental Can and enjoyed being a housewife, caregiver and studying her Bible. Her greatest joy was being able to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchilden and attending their sporting events. She had a love for feeding, and watching all varieties of wildlife and held a special place in her heart for dogs and cats. She will truly be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of the Life of Rose E. Decker has been scheduled for 2:00pm on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that all donations be made in Rose's name to the "No Kill Facility for Animals" located in Tilton, IL.
