Rosamond Carmichael

Rosamond Carmichael, 90, of Danville, passed away at 3:45pm Monday January 1, 2018, at North Logan Health Care, Danville. She was born on July 27, 1927, the daughter of Harlan E. and Margaret {Evans} Mills. She was married to William Daniel Carmichael Sr, he preceded her in death in 1980. Rosamond worked at Florshiem Shoe Factory, William Davies Packing Plant, and later Veterans Administration where she retired from. Her life revolved around her grandchildren and spending time with them. She loved music and baking and was known to make the best chicken & noodles, as well as fried chicken. She is survived by: her son, William Daniel Carmichael Jr; her brother, Gerald Harlan Mills; her sister, Helen Delores White; her grandchildren, Tammie Lynn Wehrle, Dannie Lee Smith Jr, Bryce Edward Carmichael, Matthew Ray Carmichael, & Andrew Ryan Carmichael; her great grandchildren, Krystel M. Dixon, Brandon Joshua Kelp, Rebecca, Anna Poindexter, Samuel Poindexter, Taylor D. Smith, Trenton R. Smith, Patrick Carmichael, & Grace Carmichael; and her great-great grandchildren, Zach & Levi. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William Carmichael Sr.; her brother, Harry Franklin Mills Sr; her daughter, Sharon Kay Carmichael Smith Reed; and her great grandson, Christopher Shane Jones. A celebration of Rosamond's life will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, January 8, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. Visitation will be 10am to 12pm on Monday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
