Rosalea Smith

Rosalea Smith, 88, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 11:30am, Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the home of her granddaughter in Indianola. She was born on April 11, 1920, in Indianola the daughter of Lester and Pearl (Austin) McCoy, both deceased. She was married to Merle D. Smith on September 25, 1937, in Covington, IN, until his passing on May 24, 2006. Rosalea was a homemaker and a member of the Ridge Farm Church of the Nazarene for several years. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Most of all, she loved raising her children and grandchildren. She was very good at spoiling her kids and grandkids. She will be missed by: her sons, Larry (Gail) Smith of Virginia & Thomas Smith of Westville; her ten grandchildren; her five great grandchildren; her brother, Jerry McCoy of Hawbuck; and her sister, Dora (Max) Devitt of Crawfordsville, IN. She was preceded in death by: a daughter; two sons; one granddaughter; four brothers; and one sister. A celebration of Rosaleas life will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola. Dean High will officiate. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown is in charge of arrangements.
