INDIANOLA - Rosalea V. Corbin, 85, of Indianola, passed away at 9:10am, Thursday, January 12th, 2006, at her home. She was born on September 27th, 1920, in Indianola, IL, the daughter of Samuel K. and Mabel (Harrell) Van Fleet. On September 25th, 1943, she was married to Ross Corbin in Georgetown. He preceded her in death on February 27th, 1967. She is survived by: her three children, Samuel V. (Alice) Corbin of Ridge Farm, Ruth White of Catlin, & John Ross (the late Karen) Corbin of Indianola; her grandchildren, Michael White of Florissant, MO, Matthew Ross (Lynn) White of Charleston, IL, Kara Anne (Jay) Lickfett of Irvine, CA, Connie Sue (Alexis) Ignatiou of Limassol, Cyprus, Jason Ryan Corbin of Indianola, & Justin Ray Corbin of Indianola; her step great grandson, Wyatt Lee Snyder of Charleston, IL; her great grandson, Eli Ross White of Charleston, IL; a great granddaughter, Alexandra Nicole White; her great grandson, Seth Michael White of Florissant, MO; and her sister, Izel Ann Duff of Indianola. In addition, she is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother-Harrell Van Fleet, two sisters-Glenda Van Fleet & Vera Brooks, and a great granddaughter-Madison Grace White. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1938. She loved the outside and nature, working in her yard, gardening and mushrooming. She made scrapbooks and photo albums for herself and her six grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Cubs and the University of Illinois. Above all, she loved being with her family. She served as an election judge for many years, was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown, was a charter member of the Carroll Township Historical Society and was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She was chosen as one of the outstanding citizens of Indianola in 1992.
