Rosa F. Weir

Cayuga, Ind. -- Rosa F. Weir, 81, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 10 a.m. CST Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. . She was born February 12, 1929 in Cayuga, Indiana, the daughter of the late Frank James and Sadie Price Campbell. She married Lawrence Leonard "Bert" Weir on June 5, 1947 in Newport, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2006. Survivors include two granddaughters, Tracy(Mark)Chaney of Mannford, Oklahoma and Amanda(Adam)Day of Newport, Indiana; great granddaughter, Madison Day and twin great grandsons, Branden and Ian Chaney; three great great grandchildren; several sisters and brothers. She was preceded in death by one grandson. Rosa retired from Bohn/Heat Craft of Danville, Illinois in February 1991. She attended the Cayuga Christian Church. Rosa was a 1947 graduate of Cayuga High School. She was a lifetime member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Friday, December 17, 2010 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Dr. Andy Spencer; Burial: Miller Cemetery, Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. EST Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the funeral home with a memorial service by the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263 at 6 p.m. EST.
