Rosa Maria Alvarez

Rosa Maria Alvarez, 58, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville.

She was born May 18, 1966, in Mission, Texas, daughter of the late Narciso and Juana (Lona) Perez.

Rosa married Praxedis Alvarez on September 6, 1986, in San Antonio, Texas, and he survives.

Also surviving are her children: Chistopher (Kaitlin) Alvarez of Urbana, Illinois; Praxedis Alvarez Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona; her grandchildren: Audriana (Isaac) Alvarez-Cardoza of Danville, Illinois, Axelle Alvarez of Phoenix, Arizona; and Lionel and Tyghe Alvarez of Urbana, Illinois; three sisters; six brothers; and a daughter-in-law: Rachel (David) German.

Along with her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by an infant twin sister, and two brothers.

Rosa enjoyed playing Loteria, going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, and everyone loved her homemade strawberry cake. When not in the kitchen, Rosa could be found crocheting or tending to all of her plants in the living room.

A committal service for Rosa will be held at 10AM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville, Illinois, in the mausoleum chapel. There will be no visitation.
