Ronnie (Ronald L.) Huls, 63, of Danville, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 12, 2018, in the emergency room at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. He was born January 3, 1955, to the late Eugene Huls and Joan (White) Huls. She survives. As a boy, Ronnie was involved in the Boy Scouts. He graduated in 1973 from Bismarck-Henning High School. Ronnie was a member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church. He married Bess (Hecker) Huls on June 21, 1975. Ronnie and Bess enjoyed many years of camping, boating, and water skiing. Recently, they enjoyed taking weekend trips to just get away for a few days. She survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Jennifer (Jake) Heidrick, his son Adam (Kayla Dillman) Huls; his two grandchildren, Bradley and Emily Heidrick; his brother Gary (Diana) Huls; his sister Diane (John) Allison; his nephews Shawn (Dana) Allison, Shane (Blythe) Allison, Dwayne (Amanda) Huls, Danny (Shannon) Nipper, Ryan (Sara Mets) Nipper, Troy Nipper, and James Hecker; his nieces Crystal (Kris) Suchaczewski and Jessica (Jordan) St. John; many great nieces and great nephews as well as cousins and friends. Ronnie was such a hard worker and never knew how to slow down. His smile and laugh were infectious and couldn't help but make you smile, too. He enjoyed archery and snowmobiling trips with his friends. He loved the outdoors and being outside. Farming was a way of life for him. He loved hunting and taking the back roads with his Jeep to enjoy the countryside and maybe spot an eagle or deer. At the drop of a hat, he would stop what he was doing so he could help others. Ron seemed to be a jack-of-all trades. He could fix anything or could figure it out if he didn't know. He was so proud of his children. He loved Jennifer's artwork and loved watching Adam play tennis. Bradley and Emily adored him and he adored them as well. Ronnie was such a thoughtful and caring person. He is so loved and will be missed by so many. A celebration of Ronnie's life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Sunset Funeral home & Cremation Center, 3940 N.
