Ronald Lee Zigler, 89, of Oakwood, IL passed away at Goldwater Care in Danville, IL on December 29, 2025 at 12:30 AM.
Ron was born on November 25, 1936 the son of Beecher and Clara Maxine (Cunningham) Zigler in Fithian, IL. He married Diana Ruth Neitzelt on October 14, 1983 in Danville, IL and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Zigler of Oakwood, IL, children, Steve (Ashley) Zigler of Maryville, TN, Elizabeth (John) Stanisz of Terre Haute, IN, Julie (Richard) Jordan of Denton, TX and Nicholas Zigler of San Francisco, CA, six grandchildren, Brianne (Chris) Clabo, Kristen (Scott) Bedno, Jon (Ashley) Stanisz, Hannah Jordan, Olivia Jordan and Anderson Jordan as well as one great grandchild, River Stanisz, and two brother-in-laws George (Michelle) Rosenberger of Florida and Bobby Rosenberger of California.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lori Anne Price and one brother, Larry Zigler.
Ron served in the United States Army and later in the Army Reserves. Ron and Diana raised Tennessee Walking Horses and owned and operated R & D Lawn Care for many years. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge, and enjoyed spending his free time trail riding, camping, going dancing with Diana and spending time with his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Oakwood, Illinois 105 East S. Main St. Oakwood, Illinois 61858. Matt Filicsky will officiate. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery in Fithian, IL. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the funeral home in Oakwood.
The family requests casual attire for the Visitation and Memorial Services.
Memorial donations may be made to St Judes Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
