Ronald D. Wolfe

Ronald D. Wolfe, 85, of Oakwood passed away at 12:57 PM on May 30, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Ronald was born on February 23, 1941 the son of Ferris “Jake” and Betty Lou (Wilson) Wolfe, Jr in Oakwood, IL. He married Marilyn Hibbs on February 14, 1969 in Oakwood, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Wolfe of Oakwood, IL, his sons, Greg (Beth) Wolfe of Oakwood, IL, Roland (Eric) Wolfe of Redding, CT, Troy (Carolyn) Wolfe of Henning, IL and Matt (Kristal) Wolfe of Oakwood, IL, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren as well as four siblings, Janice Lee of Oakwood, IL, Peggy Baker of Oakwood, IL, Rita (Jim) Trask of Oakwood, IL, and Gary (Barb) Wolfe of Brownsburg, IN.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents.

Ronald was a member of the Laborer’s International Union locals 624 & 703 for over 50 years and retired in 2000. A dedicated member of the Oakwood Men’s Club, he helped launch the Oakwood Youth Football Program and was happiest golfing, relaxing on his porch, or cheering on the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed game hunting and Spring mushroom hunting.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Oakwood, Illinois 105 East S. Main St. Oakwood, Illinois 61858. Josh Hunsberger will officiate. Visitation will be held from 8:30-11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the funeral home in Oakwood. A Private Family Inurnment will follow services in Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
