Ronald 'Ronnie' Strader

Danville - Ronald Eugene “Ronnie” Strader, 66, of Danville passed away at 4:20 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on August 8, 1948 in Danville to Dale and Alice Ellen (Lappin) Strader. He is survived by three children, Rachelle N. "Shelly" Strader of Danville, Ronald T. “Bucky” Strader of Bloomington, and Timothy Eugene Strader of Danville; his girlfriend, Marilyn Kay Schlunaker; sister, Jean Hobbs of Danville; brother, Marshall "Marty" Lappin of Danville; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Dale and Kenny Strader. Ronnie had worked for many years as an Auto Body Repair Technician for Wynn C. Smith. Ronnie was a people person that also loved to fish and hunt and grow his vegetable gardens. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronnie Strader will be held at 5 pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Cremation rites have been accorded. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the memorial service at Sunset in Danville. Memorials in Ronnies name may be made to his family.
