Ronald Robling

Ronald Robling, 86, of Hoopeston formerly of Rossville, passed away at Heritage Health Hoopeston on Friday August 18, 2017, with family by his side. Ron was born the son of Lowell and Ruth (Satterwhite) Robling on October 26, 1930 in Danville. Ron married the love of his life Patsyann Hoover on October 15, 1950. Ron leaves behind two children Rhonda Johnson and Mike (Deb) Robling, six grandchildren; Madonna (Robert) Wahlfeldt, Chuck Johnson, Brandi (Jason) Andres, Tyler Robling, Brooke (JD) Stewart and Marci Johnson, nine great grandchildren; Jordan (Destini) Flint, Chelsea (Kyle Hufford) Flint, Lexi Dice, Luke Dice, Tate Johnson, Cody Highfill, Malachi Stewart, Dakota Martin and McKenzie Andres, three great great grandchildren; Lola and Lennox Flint and Trentyn Hufford, one sister Sue (Harold) Reed, several nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister Marilyn and son in law David Johnson. Ron worked at Norton Fertilizer Company for several years running a corn sheller, driving semi and running fertilizer equipment. Later going to work for Bohn Aluminum "Heat Craft" where he retired in 1992. He then started working part time for Birkeys for several years, later going to work at Danville Gardens and PTI. Ron never really stopped working he was always looking for something to do. Ron enjoyed gardening, Christmas, going to Disney World, watching the Cardinals play, he also enjoyed the Indy 500 his favorite driver was A.J. Foyt. A visitation for Ron will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St Danville on Sunday August 20th, 2017 from 2 - 5 pm. Service will be on Monday August 21st, 2017 at 10am. Drew Mentzer will officiate. Burial at a later date in Bethel Cemetery in Alvin. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to Heritage Health Hoopeston or Second Church of Christ in Ron's name.
