Ronald L. Niccum, 54, of Danville, IL passed away September 4, 2006 at Provena USMC Logan Campus in Danville. He was born February 1, 1952 in Danville son of Jacob H. and Harriet Moorhous Niccum. He married Rose M. Barnes on July 13, 1996 in Danville. She survives along with five children: Kenneth Barnes (Melissa) of Danville, Michelle Bower (Matt) of Danville, Heidi Parson (Carl) of Danville, Shirley Hubbard (Jason) of Alvin, and Karen Calvin of Danville. Fifteen grand children. Brother: David Niccum (Carol) of Georgetown, sister: Karen Cook of Angola, IN. Aunt: Viola Mae Hancock, Brother-in-law: Michael Schrader (Alice) of Perrysville, IN, and Harry Schrader (Linda) of Sun Prairie, WI. Several Nieces and Nephews. Special friends: Daryl Cook, Sue Niccum, and John Miceli, and Jeff Jones. His beloved Pit Bull Misty & Whippet Chaz. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons. Ronald was a graduate of Danville High School and Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis. He worked as an auto mechanic for 30+ years and worked at Clarks Garage for nearly 6 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, the outdoors, was a die hard Cubs fan and loved bingo. A Celebration of Ronalds life will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, September 8, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev. Phil Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 " 9:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Danville Provena Cancer Center.
