Ronald L. Erwin Sr. Oakwood Ronald L. Erwin Sr. of Oakwood passed away suddenly on August 6, 2015. He was born April 16, 1947 in Danville, Ill. to Peter and Betty Lou Knight Erwin. Out of high school, Ronald served in the United States Army for two years. Ronald's occupation was a meat manager at County Market for many years. He enjoyed his job and all of his co-workers as well. Ronald liked to shoot his guns, watching car auctions, car renovation, enjoyed outdoors, loved his dogs "Toby and Gabby," and especially spending time with his grandchildren and family. He is survived by his dear wife, Sherry, of 29 years, with whom he was united in marriage on April 5, 1986; by his children, Ronnie (Missy) Erwin Jr., Ann Richards, Randy (Tina) Sollars; his cherished grandchildren, Chad (Nicki) Sollars, Tyler Bradfield, Cody Sollars, Amber Richards, Macy Richards, Taylor Roseman, Tyler Roseman; by his great grandchildren, Zander Hughes and Tucker Sollars; and by his brother, Steve (Linda) Erwin; and by many nieces, nephews and many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Tami Erwin. A visitation will be held Monday, August 10, from 4 p.m. until the 6:30 Celebration of life service, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, Ill. A private interment will be scheduled for a later date in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials in Ronald's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
