Ronald Gene Clark

Ronald Gene Clark, 56, of Georgetown, Illinois went to live eternally in Heaven the morning of February 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. Ron was born June 30, 1967, in Danville, IL to Ronald Cope and Wanda Clark.

Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Wanda Clark, his three daughters from his previous marriage to Sherri Vecellio; Amber (Leah) Lutz, Tisha (Cory) Pratt and Shyann (Jacob Knipe) Clark, his 9 grandchildren that he treasured and his sisters Crystal (Joe) Miles and Becky (Hauch) Ondesko. His lifelong friend/brother Jamie (Carma) Irby, several nieces & nephews and 2 great nieces. He also leaves behind a very special extended family that had a huge impact on his life growing up; Jerry and Nancy Covington, Maria Covington, Carla Carlock, Harry (Darlene) Covington and Eddie (Janis) Carlock.

Ron was preceded in death by his father Ronald Cope, infant daughter Rhonda Vecellio Clark and brother Jimmie Clark.

Ron grew up in Georgetown graduating in 1986 from Georgetown High School. He also earned a degree from DACC prior to joining the Army. After serving his country he worked many years at Illinois Child Support Services. Ron was a huge KISS fan and enjoyed cheering for the Bears and the Reds. He had a wicked sense of humor and was always the life of the party. Most of all Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois with his arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday March 22nd from 4-7pm. Memorial service Saturday March 23rd @ 3pm with burial to follow in Whitlock Cemetery outside of Georgetown. Any donations can be sent to Sunset Funeral Home in Georgetown, IL.
