Ronald E. Otis

Ronald Eric Otis, 70, of Urbana, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Ron was born in Champaign on September 30, 1952, the son of Richard and Mary (Whitlock) Otis. On October 25, 1975, he married Nancy Andersen.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Nancy; children, Justin Otis, Kristin (Aaron) Valentine; grandchildren, Ally, Kayson, Lexi, Keelie, Gunner; siblings, Roger Otis, Steve Otis, Pete Otis, Sharon Timmerman and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Paul Otis.

Ron loved fishing, bicycles and playing chess. He truly adored his family and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Champaign, Illinois 710 N Neil St. Champaign, Illinois 61820. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7pm at the funeral home with M.J. Martin officiating.
