Ronald E. Cox Sr.

Ronald E. Cox Sr. of Danville passed away on August 23, 2018 at OSF Healthcare in Champaign, IL. He was born on November 4, 1953 in Danville the son of Clarence E. and Stella E. (Yaden) Cox. He married Joann Sims Bridgman in 1972 and later divorced in 1982. Ronald later married Phyllis Parsons on March 2, 2002. She preceded him in death in 2016. Ronald will be deeply missed by his children; Ronald (Jessica) Cox Jr. of Danville, Amy (Marquese) Cox of Danville, Carolyn (Michael) Fegett of Danville, Kimberly (Joshua) Hatcher of Fairmount, Kayla (Nate) Boyer of Oakwood and Danny Williams of Danville, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters; Elise LeLoup of Danville, Carol (Terry) Koebrich of Danville and Connie Jones of Southern, IL, brother-in-law, Gordy (Charlotte) Parsons of Danville, aunts, Dorothy Larson of Rantoul, Kathleen (Roland) Schroeder of Indianapolis, IN, several nieces and nephews, a special friend, John Stubee and Ron's favorite dog "Cosmo". He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Mary Jane Cox and sisters, Sharon Tondini and Marla Cox. Ronald was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved watching wrestling, especially John Cena. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing euchre and BINGO but spending time with his family and friends was what he loved most. A celebration of Ronald's life will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the funeral home in Danville. He will be laid to rest at Rossville Cemetery.
