Danville - Ronald Dale Hines of Danville passed away at 6:35pm on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on July 7, 1949 at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, IL to Claude and Margaret Bernice Hines. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Claude Hines and his sister-in-law, Verna Hines. Ronald is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Smith) Hines of 36 years. They were married in Farina, IL. on June 11, 1977. Ronald is lovingly remembered by his children, Eric and Lisa (Hines) Walker of Effingham, IL, Ronald Hines Jr. of Danville, IL, and Carter and Christina (Hines) Ingram of Dana, IN, grandchildren Carissa and Jeremiah Walker, his brother Mirl Hines of Tavares, FL, his sister Dick and Marlene (Hines) Goulding of Oakwood, IL, nieces Lauren (Hines) Roselle, Claremont, CA, Deanna (Goulding) Hodges of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and nephew Rick Goulding of Las Vegas, NV. Ronald graduated from Danville High School in 1968. He served in the Armed Forces for 3 years. He retired from General Motors and worked at McLane Midwest. Ronald enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. The funeral visitation will be Friday, February 21 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Center in Danville. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronald Hines will be held Saturday, February 22 at 10:00 am at Living Water Apostolic Church at 1204 W. Williams St. in Danville, IL. Pastor Randy Taylor of Danville, IL and Pastor Roger Barcus of St. Paul, MN will officiate. Ronald attended Living Water Apostolic Church for many years and served on the board and in any capacity that he was needed. Ronald's passion was helping others. In his final days he stated that he wished he could have helped more people. Living Water Apostolic Church has established a fund in his honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ronald's honor to Living Water Compassion Ministries P.O. Box 145 Danville, IL 61832.
