Ronald Cummins,89, a man deeply cherished by all who knew him, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Covington, Indiana, on April 15, 2026. Born on July 22, 1936, in Farmersburg, Indiana, Ronald lived a life marked by dedication, love, and a true passion for the simple joys of life.
Ronald retired from Superior Coach Sales where he served diligently as a mechanic, a career that reflected his skilled hands and steadfast work ethic. Beyond his professional life, he found joy and peace in tending to his garden, especially nurturing his beloved rose bushes which brought beauty and serenity to his yard.
A committed member of Orchard Hill's Church of Christ, Ronald held his faith as one of his proudest accomplishments, actively participating in the community and embodying the values he treasured. His devotion to the church was a testament to the strength of his character and his commitment to living a life of purpose and kindness.
Ronald’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is lovingly survived by his daughter Rhonda Hardy of Covington, his daughter-in-law Betty Cummins of Lafayette, and his grandchildren Miranda (Bill) Peck, Mryah Cummins, and Michaela Cummins. He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter, Elana Peck, who was surely a source of immense joy. Ronald’s brother Jerry Cummins and sister Joyce Syester also survive him, along with several nieces and nephews who carry forward his legacy of family love and connection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Irene (Brown) Cummins; his beloved wife, Charlotte (Current) Cummins; his children Ronald Gene Cummins and Brenda Sue Cummins; his son-in-law Jim Hardy; and his brothers Jim, Art, John, and Kenny Cummins. Though their absence is deeply felt, Ronald’s memory lives on richly in the hearts of all who loved him.
A visitation to honor Ronald’s life will be held on April 23, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. est. at Orchard Hill's Church of Christ, located at 1630 9th Street, Covington, Indiana. This will be followed by the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. est. at the church. Burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington.
