Ronald Charles Kerst

Ronald Charles Kerst, 70, of Georgetown, passed away on October 23, 2020. He was born in Danville on May 19, 1950 the son of Robert and Mary Kerst.

Ron is survived by his sister and best friend, Shirley (Rick) Davis; brother, Robert Earl (Janice) Kerst; niece, Tammy Coon; nephews, Jeff Murdock, John Murdock and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Brenda Kerst and brother, David Kerst.

Ron attended Danville High School before working at the Forest Glen Preserve. He was a talented musician, playing both the piano and drums. Music was a large part of Rons life and with his band he traveled the country opening for a large well-known band. Ron also enjoyed writing poetry and has won several awards for his work.

Ron cherished the time spent with his family and the many friends he met from Forest Glen and throughout his musical career.

A Memorial Service for Ron will take place at 10am on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with Pastor Kenneth Young officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9am to 10am at the Funeral Home.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance of service and/or visitation wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Per Rons wishes he will be cremated and laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
