Romana D. Van Petten

Romana D. Van Petten, 50, of Danville, passed away at 11:53 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2004 at her home. She was born August 27, 1954 in Ludwigsburg, Germany, the daughter of William Charles and Anneliese B.J. (Reiff) Le Begue. She married Gerald Van Petten on March 17, 1997 in Danville, Illinois. Romana is survived by: her daughter - Michelle Reiff of Philadelphia, PA; 2 Grandchildren- Darien Reiff and Avaya Moore; 2 Sisters - Isabella (John) Mc Nish of Philadelphia, PA and Ursula Abt of Germany; and her former husband - Gerald Van Petten of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother in infancy. She was a 1973 graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia, and then went through the Veteran's Administration C.N.A. program in Philadelphia. She worked as a C.N.A. for the VA Hospital in Philadelphia for many years before coming to Danville in 1995. She continued her work as a C.N.A. for the Illiana Health Care System in Danville for several years until retiring after 24 years service with the VA. While in Philadelphia, she was also a member and part-time employee of New Spirit Presbyterian Church. After coming to Danville, she attended New Life Christian Center. Romana touched a lot of people throughout her life, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and computers.
