Rolland Wesley Rollie Miller, 85, of Danville passed away at 1:45pm on September 10, 2010 at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born on October 17, 1924, in Danville, the son of Edward and Fairrie Miller. One March 21, 1947, Rollie married Wilma Hibler. She survives along with their two children, Stephen Miller and Sherry (Miller) Pryor. His six grandchildren, Candy (Miller) George, Shawn Miller, Greg Miller, Angela (Furry) Bissey, Jamie (Furry) Hinchee, Jason Furry, ten great-grandchildren, one sister, Clovia Hollycross, and one brother Charles Miller, also survive Rollie. His parents and a great-grandchild, Briget Miller preceded Rollie in death. He served in the United States Army during WWII, and was stationed in the Philippine Islands before returning to the states. Rollie retired from Rogers Cartridge in 1985, where he spent many years as a truck driver, or as Rollie would say, Road Technician. He enjoyed traveling, all things country and western, and his beloved family. He was a great story teller and the first to crack a smile. He will be missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of the Life of Rolland Wesley Miller will began at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the funeral home.
